ABSTRACT
Nevadan homicide detective Jerry Black is in the process of gathering his things on the last day of work before his retirement when the body of an eight-year old girl is discovered in the mountains. Taken by a thirst for justice and the pleas of the deceased girl's mortified mother, Jerry pledges to track down the at-large killer, contending with unhelpful coworkers in the wake of a younger cop coaxing a shaky confession out of a suspect as he sets out on a journey to nab his man.
