A cyborg assassin built by Cyberdyne is sent back in time by our future robot overlords to assassinate Sarah Connor, future mother of rebel leader John Connor. The John Connor in the future also sends out a bodyguard to protect his mother and thus ensure his birth. Low budget science fiction film which rises far above others to capture the pop-culture imagination, spawning a series of big-budget sequels.
