The Americanized son of an English aristocrat returns to his father's estate, visits a gypsy fortune teller and is bitten by a werewolf. When the moon rises, he must feed. Excellent cinematography backed by one of Lon Chaney Jr.'s best performances. Spawned three sequels. Enormously influential, one of the two defining films of werewolf cinema, the other being Werewolf of London (1935).
