A newly uncovered, long-missing page of John Wilkes Booth diary seems to implicate an ancestor of treasure-hunter Ben Gates in Lincoln's assassination. But a Playfair cipher exposed on the reverse of the page is the first of several clues -- all of which are in comically inaccessible locations -- that seem to point to a legendary (and quite preposterous) Precolumbian "city of gold." Lots of action and a villain.
