McQ
McQ (6-Feb-1974)
Director: John Sturges
Writer: Lawrence Roman
Three police officers are killed, including Lt. Lon McQ's partner, Stan Boyle. Investigating these killings ruffles feathers, as he suspects mobster Manny Santiago may be responsible, but he has orders to stay away; McQ resigns the force and continues as a private investigator. Too old for his role, John Wayne is somewhat miscast as a "Dirty Harry" type; with Brannigan (1975), one of two police films at the end of his career.
