ABSTRACT
Ray Ferrier, a New Jersey dockworker and man of questionable moral character, lives a stressful life divorced from ex-wife Mary Ann and estranged from children Rachel and Robbie. Strange lightening strikes impact the Earth one fateful day just as Mary Ann drops Rachel and Robbie off at Ray's place on her way to visiting family in Boston, leading the embattled man to act as a vigilante warrior of sorts when the bizarre weather gives way to a full-throated alien invasion and forces him to take matters into his own hands if he -- and his family -- are to stand the slightest chance at survival.
