Crime drama follows a rookie Los Angeles cop's first day on the job with an ethically-challenged veteran detective.

ABSTRACT
Rookie Los Angeles Police Department officer Jake Hoyt, an idealistic young man looking to stake his claim as a uniformed do-gooder in a city besieged by crime and drug violence, eagerly agrees to participate in a day-long "ride along" with hardened narcotics officer Alonzo Harris as part of a plan to prove his worth on the squad. When his big day finally arrives, however, Jake is brought face to face with the harsh realities of institutionalized corruption and his superior's rule-bending ways, slowly coming to realize that his participation in the "ride along" in question is less about training and more about being an unwitting pawn in an elaborate game.
