A freak atmospheric phenomenon allows a father to speak with his son thirty years in the future over radio, leading to a host of unintended consequences.
ABSTRACT
Frank, a New York City firefighter enjoying a happy marriage, loving son John, and the unlikely success of his beloved "Miracle Mets" in 1969, finds himself able to communicate with John in 1999 thanks to once-a-generation "solar flares" impacting the usage of his ham radio. John, now a homicide detective reeling from the death of Frank in a warehouse fire some years earlier, seizes the opportunity to warn his father of his impending demise, unintentionally altering history in a bad way and creating a situation in which father and son must work together to repair the past before the flares disappear for good.
