An aspiring ballerina learns her fianc�e has been killed in WWI, descends into poverty and becomes a prostitute to survive, and then encounters him by chance at Waterloo Bridge. Both Robert Taylor and Vivien Leigh considered this their best film. Nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score Oscars.
