Selena Gomez doesn’t like religion, but is still cool with God, she revealed in a recent radio interview.

The pop star, 24, appeared on the Zach Sang Show, an internet radio program in Los Angeles where she discussed faith, her latest song, “Bad Liar,” the role therapy plays in her life, and her boyfriend, rapper The Weeknd.

“That word (religion) freaks me out sometimes, you know?” Gomez said on the show.

Gomez has stated she was raised Catholic, but has been seen attending the Pentecostal Hillsong Church. Hillsong, while traditionally against homosexuality, which Gomez supports, says they are “gay welcoming.”

“I don’t know if it’s necessarily that I believe in religion, as much as I believe in faith and a relationship with God,” the singer said.

While it seems her beliefs are even more in flux, Gomez was seen at the super chill church in New York City the weekend of June 4.

“I’ve just experienced things in my life where there are holes in things that nothing else can fill and I know that if I didn’t have the faith that I had it wouldn’t have gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life,” the singer said in the radio interview.

The star, who executive produced Netflix’s controversial show about suicide, “13 Reasons Why,” has been blunt in the past about her experience with bullying, mental health issues, and her diagnosis with lupus.

Gomez said that she doesn’t force her beliefs on anyone else and that it’s “something anyone has the right to figure out for themselves.”
