Bulgarian Parliament Rejected Armenian Genocide Recognition Bill

March 31, 2006 - 14:15 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Bulgarian parliament voted down the bill on the Armenian Genocide recognition, reported the Public TV of Armenia. The Armenian issue will hardly be included in the agenda since one of the most influential parties of the Bulgarian parliament - Movement of Rights and Freedoms - has Turkish ethnic roots. Moreover the party serves on the Bulgarian coalition government and the Bulgarian parliament seems unwilling to confront the Turkish government.
