A smart, affectionate satire of '80s nostalgia and teen movie tropes, 21 Jump Street offers rowdy mainstream comedy with a surprisingly satisfying bite.
Mark J Big fan of the self deprecating, 4th wall breaking jokes thrown in. Really like the cast and the plot is good enough for what it is. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Ben N This is a comedy made by people who got the joke. This kind of derivative movie based on an old TV show can easily be predictable and boring. Instead, Ice Cube brought it all together poking fun at the premise immediately. The characters are silly, but the movie is good with breaking the 4th wall, and making fun of itself. From the other cops, the teachers, the other students, and the plot regarding the drugs; everything was dumb, but in the best kind of fun way. Overall, this is a movie I can watch every few years and laugh along with and at the whole way through. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Steven t Very funny. Loved every second! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Audience Member Definitely worth a watch supper funny movie and great cast. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review Samuel W This comedy delivers a very meta experience that happens to come from the lens of a not-so-subtle remake. The whole entire experience delivers a wacky, messed-up adventure of drugs, parties, and teenage killers. This has many celebrities to join Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, making it a very goofy, wonderful storyline. Unfortunately, it seems that the plot was only a vessel to make the comedy happen, but that’s reliance on the source material more than anything. Some jokes hit, some really missed, but it was still a great movie that didn’t let down. Synopsis When cops Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) join the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go under cover as high-school students. They trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, and set out to shut down a dangerous drug ring. But, as time goes on, Schmidt and Jenko discover that high school is nothing like it was just a few years earlier -- and, what's more, they must again confront the teenage terror and anxiety they thought they had left behind.
