Chasing Liberty | Rotten Tomatoes

Samantha L Chasing Liberty isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s got that irresistible, feel-good vibe you can’t help but enjoy. Mandy Moore totally owns the screen, taking a pretty standard plot—girl rebels, finds freedom, and meets the guy—and giving it real energy. Sure, it’s predictable, but that’s kind of what makes it work. It’s a fun, lighthearted flick that doesn’t need to be anything more than it is. If you’re in the mood for a breezy escape, this one does the trick. And if you caught it growing up, it’s definitely one of those nostalgic go-tos that still feels like a good time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Sophia U It’s cute for the most part but the moment it hit that scene where they stayed at Eugenio’s place and was throwing herself at him, got upset when he said no and threw a tantrum was the most cringiest thing ever. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Ava S Though it all happens pretty fast, the romance feels earned with fluffy dedications of love, but don't be fooled: Chasing Liberty's screenplay can get a bit rough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Jessica K Watched when I was a teen with my sister. It was a very good time. And exhilarating. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/23 Full Review Chad T A rom-com with a premise that might be a bit far fetched: a lone secret service agent secretly put on the job of watching the president's daughter while she's snuck off and travels through Europe thinking that he's just sweet on her? Of course, the inevitable happens, he falls for her, she falls for him and at the most inopportune moment she finds out who he really is. Yet, in the end, it all ends well. [Opera Music Crescendo]. Thumbs up on Moore & Goode's performances as well as Piven & Sciorra, who finally take a plunge of their own. Harmon makes a good president & a concerned father. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review steve d The cast is always good but the story lead character too childish and story too contrived.
