Justin T I’m confused if this is a sequel or re-sequel or sequel to a re-sequel, the timeline is very confused in this film. This is not a good Godzilla film but it is better than the previous one. Much as there is lots of monster action, plenty of city smashing and a really cool new monster there are also lots of issues that stop this being even an average Godzilla film. It uses a mixture of old-school practical and really badly aged CGI. It’s the latter that makes this film hard to enjoy. They also have this horrible effect of dropping frames and blending frames for either drama or to make it more exciting but it just looks awful. Even Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) had better CGI as it was used sparingly and only where it was needed. Some sections felt like they were missing music. The human story was ridiculous but also serious which I have no real opinion on. It has the single worst freeze frame ending ever. The post-credit sequence literally made things worse and didn’t explain anything. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Rich A Megaguirus is one of my absolute favorite Kaiju she is amazing! Synopsis The Japanese government has devised a new weapon, dubbed the Dimension Tide, in their fight against radioactive monster Godzilla (Toshiyuki Nagashima). During a test, the Dimension Tide creates a wormhole through which a giant flying creature arrives and deposits an egg before fleeing again. This egg hatches many flying Meganulas that crave energy to give to their queen, the enormous Megaguirus (Tsutomu Kitagawa). Once awake, the Megaguirus faces off against Godzilla with humans in the middle.
