Superbad | Rotten Tomatoes

Deftly balancing vulgarity and sincerity while placing its protagonists in excessive situations, Superbad is an authentic take on friendship and the overarching awkwardness of the high school experience.
Mich T This is by far the best comedy movie out there (in my humble Opinion) and it's still relatable years later. Michael Cera, Seth Rogen, and Johan Hill all were at the peak of their abilities as actors in this film. This film shows us three high school nerds who can't get invited to any parties and have the night of their lives when they go on a mission to deliver alcohol to a party and try and get laid. The chemistry between all of these actors is something truly special, not one bad performance, and not one flaw, except for the fact some scenes carried on for longer than it should've. I recommend this film to people 16 years or older. It's more of a coming-of-age film. And people in high school/college would enjoy this the most... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Miguel T Superbad has a priviliged cult classic status and at my first time watching it, I had really high expectations, which didnt live up. The first 30 minutes areincredibly funny, but the film quickly distract with the arc of McGloving with the cops rather tahn focussing on Cera and Hill who share a lot of chemistry. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Jen W One of the greatest comedies of all time IMO Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review Laze T Mc lovin most iconic comedic character Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Drew B Classic. Funny. McLovin is probably one of my favorite movie characters. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/25 Full Review Samuel W A movie that redefined raunchy comedy so long ago, yet this is the first I've seen it. For the first time experiencing this movie, I found myself a little underwhelmed and disliking the first act of the film as it showcases the overwhelming puberty and sexuality of two young, teenage boys. Pushing through the grueling first twenty minutes was the best thing I did for this movie, as it improved tremendously and the actors kept getting better and better. The plot improved with the characters as the movie became chaos incarnate as the boys try to tempt fate at every single turn on the way to try and have sex with their respective crushes. But they learn to become more respectful and a lot better of men, while still being boyish, and learn how to be themselves. With Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Stone, Bill Hader, Seth Rogan, and so, so, so many other stars seen in other famous works, this cast stacks up so that the movie performs remarkably well in its comedic value.
