Deborah Ross The Spectator Delicate and elegant piece of work combining great storytelling, a terrific script, and characters you can seriously care about, and do. It hits all the marks. You'll laugh. You'll cry. And you'll love it as many times over as you can accommodate. Aug 31, 2018 Full Review Empire Magazine Rated: 4/5 Mar 23, 2012 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Why can't all British crime dramas be so well written and well acted, and have a splash of comedy as confident as this? Rated: 4/5 Mar 22, 2012 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Like its central character, this comedy-drama is a likable underdog in the collection of black-humored British crime movies influenced by the likes of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Rated: 4/5 Sep 20, 2021 Full Review Patrick Gamble CineVue One of those rare films that through its palpable degree of energy and vibrancy manage to keep you rooting for its characters from start to finish. Rated: 4/5 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews With a concept and influences consciously in mind; fine performances by Creed-Miles, Poulter, and Williams; and approving cameos...Fletcher is able to put his best foot forward in this creditable debut. Ted B 3.5 stars; A wonderfully acted movie about the rehabilitation of a man released from prison back into the element that put him there in the first place. When he gets home, he finds his two sons, abandoned by their mother, living in that element. The story is about how he tries to reconnect with them and keep them out of the life that put him in prison. Charlie Creed-Miles was excellent in his portrayal of a character who went from derelict and aimless, to a social person on the right side of the law, and eventually to fatherhood. This is a British film that takes place in the Lower Side of London. So the accent is pretty heavy and you need to listen closely, and pick up on some of the slang terms as well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/31/23 Full Review Robert B Brilliant film I strongly recommend this as it's very true to the current life in the uk. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/23 Full Review Dionysis K What a great film, thoroughly enjoyed it, very moving with an edge to it. If you're from the east end of London you get it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Gritty unflinching movie loaded with dark humour. Highlights serious issues happening on our doorsteps. Outstanding work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyable film following ex con reuniting with his estranged children. Excellent characters acted superbly by the cast. Well worth the watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Boring British film about boring people. Dexter Fletcher is cool though but man does this movie have a lot of bad moments. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
