Invincible: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes
- ️Thu Feb 06 2025
With bold animation, bloody action, and an all-star cast led by the charming Steven Yeun, Invincible smartly adapts its source material without sacrificing its nuanced perspective on the price of superpowers.
Kevin P Great character designs, great animation, memorable charming characters, great satire/deconstruction of the superhero genre with a chilling twist that ends the first episode and builds up the tension throughout the entire season. Terrific voice acting from the entire cast. The action is well choreographed and ranges from exciting to downright brutal. My only major complaint is the relationship between Mark and his girlfriend considering how selfish, apathetic, ungrateful, emotionally manipulative/abusive, and toxic she ends up by the end and is framed as correct by the show. Especially since she realized he’s a superhero and is mad since he didn’t tell her sooner even though he just began dating her and that would be very risky and against federal policy. Why would she be mad that he saved their lives? False equivalent. Harsh on mark. Also wills a sh*tty fair-weather unsupportive friend with his selfish apathetic reaction.
