- Kipsta to supply official Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 ball until end of 2026/27 campaign
- Deal marks Decathlon’s first major partnership in professional soccer
The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has confirmed that Decathlon-owned brand Kipsta will become the official ball supplier of French soccer’s top two divisions from the start of the 2022/23 season.
The five-year deal will see Kipsta provide the official ball for both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
Kipsta will take over the role from German sports equipment manufacturer Uhlsport, which replaced Adidas as the LFP’s ball supplier back in 2017.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement marks Decathlon’s first major move into soccer sponsorship, although it does have deals in other sports. The company recently became an official licensee of the National Basketball Association (NBA) across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
