As an official licensed broadcaster, TLN will provide Italian and Spanish coverage of February’s Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The network will also air Portuguese coverage of Tokyo 2020.

During PyeongChang 2018, TLN will show one game per day from the men’s or women’s ice hockey tournaments in Italian and Spanish, along with daily encore broadcasts and daily highlights of the Games, which take place between 9th and 25th February. TLN’s coverage of Tokyo 2020, meanwhile, will include select live soccer matches in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

“We are proud to continue our own public service mission in collaboration with CBC/Radio Canada as we have on many occasions in the past,” said Aldo Di Felice, president of Telelatino Network. “This time, our collaboration will ensure multi-lingual coverage of the Games in some of the nation’s most widely-spoken immigrant languages.”

“CBC/Radio-Canada is pleased to welcome TLN to our Olympic Games coverage plans through this unique partnership,” added Greg Stremlaw, executive director of CBC Sports and general manager of Olympics. “Providing coverage of the Olympic Games hockey tournament to Canadians in even more languages further extends a key cultural connection and increases the inclusivity of our coverage.”

TLN’s coverage will begin on 10th February, when it will show the women’s ice hockey game between host nation South Korea and Japan.
