Indian Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh will pay a four-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh beginning from October 2 at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan.
He will be accompanied by his wife Surjeet Kaur, president of the Indian Army Wives Welfare Association, said a press release.
Earlier in 2011, General Bikram Singh visited Bangladesh as the Eastern Army Commander at Fort William in Kolkata, it said.
He took over the charge of the Indian chief of army staff in June 2012, and Bangladesh is among his first visits abroad.
His visit will enhance friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two armies, the release said.
