Laurence de Hastings, 1st Earl of Pembroke was born on 20 March 1319/20.2 He was the son of John de Hastings, 2nd Lord Hastings and Juliane de Leyburn, Baroness Leyburn.1,2 He married Lady Agnes de Mortimer, daughter of Roger de Mortimer, 1st Earl of March and Joan de Geneville, Baroness Geneville, circa 29 May 1328.1,2 He died on 30 August 1348 at age 28.1
He succeeded as the Lord Abergavenny [Feudal] in 1325.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Hastings [E., 1295] on 20 January 1324/25.1 He was created 1st Earl of Pembroke [England] on 13 February 1339.1 He fought in the Battle of Sluys in 1340, against the French navy.2 He fought in the Siege of Tournai in 1340.2 He fought in the Siege of Calais in 1346.2
