At least eight Afghan security officers were killed in the northern Afghan Balkh province as a result of an attack by the Taliban movement, local media reported on Tuesday, citing the provincial police
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 02nd April, 2019) At least eight Afghan security officers were killed in the northern Afghan Balkh province as a result of an attack by the Taliban movement, local media reported on Tuesday, citing the provincial police.
The incident occurred in Balkh's Sholgara district on Monday night, the TOLOnews broadcaster specified.
As the security officers were patrolling the area, the Taliban conducted a rocket attack on them, a spokesman for the Balkh governor told the broadcaster, adding that four other policemen were injured.
The spokesman added that Taliban had also suffered casualties in the attack.
Taliban has not provided any comment yet.
