Following a thorough assessment of Virent’s operations, the difficult decision has been made to close our Madison, Wisconsin, research facility, with all commercialization activities moving into our parent company, Marathon Petroleum Corporation. After more than two decades and many milestones achieved, this decision was certainly not taken lightly. Virent is grateful for the many people and partners who have contributed to our important work, and we are extremely proud of our extraordinary accomplishments helping to advance the development and commercialization of innovative renewable liquid fuels and chemicals.
