Keith Urban is doing some filming for Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan's upcoming CBS show The Road, and he needs your help.

The premise of the show is quite unique: Twelve bands are competing to be the "Straight Line" singer's opening act on tour.

Here's how you can be involved. The show will be filming in Texas on Wednesday (March 5) at The Factory in Deep Ellum (Dallas).

Producers need fans in the audience — not only to fill the crowd in the venue, but to vote on which band they think should advance in the competition to become Urban's opening act.

The official website for The Road has full details on how see Urban for free and be a part of the reality show:

  • "Be part of the action as musicians pour their hearts out on stage, chasing their dreams to become country music's next big star – all live and in person!"
  • "To ensure the best possible experience for everyone, and to protect the integrity of the show, no photos or recordings will be permitted during the performance."
  • "A portion of the audience will be randomly selected to participate in voting."
  • You must be at least 18, and 21 in some cases.

Fans in Fort Worth, Texas were treated with the same opportunity on Sunday (March 2) at Tannahill's Tavern.

If you don't live in or near Texas, fear not, as there are five more tapings coming up in the near future in Oklahoma and Tennessee. Unfortunately, two of those are at max capacity already, while the other three haven't opened up for fans to get tickets yet.

The Road is slated to air in the fall of 2025. It's not clear how Shelton will be involved beyond creating the series with Sheridan.

Remaining The Road Show Tapings:

March 5 — Dallas, Texas @ The Factory
March 9 — Oklahoma City, Okla. @ Oklahoma Ranch
March 12 — Tulsa, Okla. @ Cain's Ballroom
March 24 — Memphis, Tenn. @ Minglewood Hall
March 28 — Nashville, Tenn. @ Marathon Music Works
April 2 — Nashville, Tenn. @ The Ryman Auditorium
